Easy Street was a challenging combination of simplicity and intuitive shopping meets a complicated product set and interesting relationships between data records. It was fun to work on the front-end as well as a fun challenge developing the back-end.
Fortunately with this project there weren’t as many as I thought there would be. In this project I created the (X)HTML and CSS using a combination of transparent PNG, z-indexing and positioning. The result was a cross-browser compatible (after a few IE alpha-transparency hacks / box-model hacks) layout with dynamic class injections to change layout from home-to-sub pages.
The Big Deal sale site boasts a PERL OOP Framework developed by myself to solve duplication-of-work problem that was keeping Thomson’s developers from focusing on the business rules.
